What patients say on Google

“I originally called to schedule an appointment with a provider and although I didn't have the opportunity to see the provider, I wanted to leave a review for the office staff Denny. I was desperately searching for a psychiatrist to help with my mental health, and many offices either told me my case was too complex, declined to help, or promised to call me back and never did. Denny was a breath of fresh air. She was kind, compassionate, straightforward, and incredibly helpful throughout the process. Even her voice was soft and calming, which made a difficult and stressful situation feel a little easier. What stood out most was that she actually followed through. After speaking with the provider about whether my case could be accepted, she called me back as promised. That level of professionalism and care is rare and meant a lot to me as I was ready for another disappointment. The office is lucky to have someone like Denny. Working with people who have mental health needs requires patience, empathy, and genuine compassion, and Denny exemplifies all of those qualities. We need more people like her in healthcare. Thank you, Denny, for your kindness and support.”

“I would not recommend this practice, especially if you’re seeking compassionate postpartum mental health care. My appointment with Dr. Lucia Chang left me feeling dismissed, belittled, and even more overwhelmed than when I entered the call. Rather than listening to my concerns, she repeatedly implied that what I was experiencing was simply due to lack of sleep and not having enough support. Her advice essentially boiled down to, “Get a village and get some sleep, and you’ll feel better.” As someone struggling postpartum, I expected empathy and a safe space to discuss what I was experiencing. Instead, I felt like I had to convince her that my feelings were real. From the moment the appointment began, her demeanor felt cold and unwelcoming, which made it incredibly difficult to open up. I ended up breaking down in tears during the appointment because I already felt miserable, and instead of feeling supported, I left feeling judged and invalidated. No one seeking help for postpartum depression or anxiety should have to plead their case to be taken seriously. After my experience, I’m not surprised to see other recent negative reviews. If you’re looking for a provider who will truly listen, validate your concerns, and provide compassionate care, I would recommend looking elsewhere. My appointment felt like a waste of time and left me feeling worse than before.”

“Doctors patient & thorough when answering my concerns or waiting for my answer to his inquiry. No delay when submitting 2nd Rx due to pharmacy receiving multiple bay area doctors sending Rx at the same moment. I sincerely hope my review will remove any hesitation anyone has concerning receiving guidance to improve their mental health ŵith sbbh. Have a blessed day.”

“I had a VERY negative experience with Dr. Lucia Cheng and would NOT recommend her. Her attitude was arrogant, cold, and dismissive. The appointment felt like an interrogation, not a mental health visit. She asked detailed medical questions but seemed to expect me to answer like a doctor, which is unreasonable for a regular patient. Her response felt condescending and mocking, and I felt criticized instead of helped. I left feeling anxious, humiliated, and emotionally distressed. Clinical knowledge does NOT excuse a lack of empathy, patience, and basic respect.”
