FDA-approved uses and an important limitation

SPRAVATO® is FDA-approved for treatment-resistant depression in adults, as monotherapy or with an oral antidepressant, and for depressive symptoms in adults with major depressive disorder and acute suicidal ideation or behavior, together with an oral antidepressant. Effectiveness in preventing suicide or reducing suicidal ideation or behavior has not been demonstrated, and SPRAVATO® does not replace hospitalization when clinically warranted.

Results vary

Published trial results describe groups of people, not individuals. No clinic can promise you a particular outcome, and we do not publish success-rate claims that a clinic cannot substantiate. SPRAVATO® has boxed warnings for sedation, dissociation, respiratory depression, abuse and misuse, and suicidal thoughts and behaviors. It must be administered in a certified setting, followed by monitoring for at least two hours. Discuss your complete history and medicines with the treating clinician.
