“I have never written a review before, but this felt crucial. I am a young adult facing some pretty intense mental health issues. I’ve been looking for medication management to go alongside with the progress I’ve made in therapy. I have been actively seeking help so that I can be listened to and given help on the complexities of my disorder. My mom and I made an appoint with Michael Jackson. I went in prepared, and all my coping skills ready, as well as my list of what I’m seeking medication to help for. After the first five minutes, Mr. Jackson had made a decision I need an ER visit. I explained that I didn’t understand why that was necessary because every time I’ve gone to the ER for mental health issues I’ve had no help besides isolation and hospitalization. I have trouble explaining what I’m thinking properly due to my OCD having me explore every option before answering. Mr. Jackson seemed to have interpreted this in some sort of way because he would cut me off when I would pause to think and finish my sentences for me. The ENTIRE appointment was based off of his preconceived notions and I have never felt more belittled in my life. After the session, he told my mom I should be taken to an ER. My mom is very on edge and worried about helping me get medication that when she heard that she almost fainted. Mr. Jackson gave me no time to explain his reasoning for this request so my mom assumed I was having active self hurtful thoughts again (they’ve been passive for 5 months now and slowly continuing to decrease). I then sat in the waiting room holding my mom while this man explains a form of treatment that I stated I appreciated, but would not be helpful and that it would cause financial burden (that was COMPLETELY ignored by the way). This man was filled with arrogance that was masked by confidence. I will be continuing to seek help with my provider and loved ones. Like I said, I’ve only met Mr. Jackson, so I hope the other providers do not act this way and take the time to treat their patients with respect and dignity, because this was the worst experience of my life.”

“Recently transferred care to this office when my former doctor retired, and I've been pretty happy with my care. I particularly appreciate the office staff. Making appointments by phone can be surprisingly stressful, and calm, courteous workers work wonders for reducing that stress. I quite like my doctor, they are kind, competent, and insightful.”

“Extremely disappointed with Mindpath. My 15-year-old had a Zoom appointment for an ADHD assessment that lasted only 20 minutes, and he was prescribed medication immediately afterward. No thorough evaluation, no in-depth discussion, and no conversation with me as his parent to explain the diagnosis or ask for consent before prescribing. Completely unacceptable and very concerning. I expected a much more careful and responsible process.”

“I’ve been a long time patient of Mindpath/PCSD and I’ve always had a great experience with everyone whom I come in contact with. The staff is friendly and courteous and extremely supportive when it comes to my needs. My provider Dr Newmark is amazing , she’s easy to talk to and makes me feel comfortable. I never have any problems scheduling appointments or reaching the office. I highly recommend Mindpath to anyone looking for any behavioral health services. I also want to thank Raquel at the Chula Vista office for helping me with important documents that I need. She’s extremely helpful and professional and also very patient with me.
