What patients say on Google

“I’ve been a patient of this clinic for over 10 years, dating back to before LifeStance took over the original Balance Clinic. First, I want to be clear that this review is not directed at the providers. Many of the providers I worked with over the years were excellent, and I was once happy to recommend this practice to others. Unfortunately, my experience with billing has been a completely different story. Over the years, I was charged incorrectly on multiple occasions, received invoices long after services were rendered, and recently discovered payments that do not appear to have been properly applied to my account. I actually stopped going to this clinic about a year ago because of ongoing billing concerns. This week, I received a new invoice claiming I owed a balance from a January 2025 visit. Since this came as a surprise, I began reviewing my records, statements, receipts, and payment history. What I found was confusing and concerning. I identified charges that appear to be duplicated, appointments that I do not recall attending, and payments that I made but cannot determine were properly credited to my account. I am currently requesting a full accounting of my billing history, payments, and dates of service. Based on my review so far, it appears I may have overpaid rather than owed an outstanding balance. If you are a current or former patient, I strongly recommend keeping copies of all receipts, statements, explanations of benefits (EOBs), and payment confirmations. Review your account carefully and don’t assume the billing is accurate simply because a statement says it is. The providers may be great, but my experience with the billing department has completely eroded my trust in this organization.”
“Dr. Kim has been great so far, I enjoy our talks very much. She listens to me about my meds and doesn't argue when I don't want them changed. Cheri has also been great at providing information and giving me tools to handle life's lemons 🍋”
“I would not recommend LifeStance based on my experience. I canceled a follow-up appointment four days in advance, within the cancellation window I was told to follow, but I was still charged a $100 late cancellation/no-show fee. This has been going on since November, and it is now June 22nd. I am still receiving bill notices for a charge that LifeStance has confirmed multiple times I should not be receiving. I have contacted the billing department several times over the past several months. More than one person has confirmed that I canceled in time and that the charge should be removed. Despite that, nothing has actually been resolved, and I continue to receive statement texts and emails. The most frustrating part is that LifeStance keeps telling me the charge is tied to the provider, Miranda Friedman, and that only Miranda can remove it. I am only including her name because I have been told multiple times that the issue is provider-specific, and I do not know how else to get this resolved. From a patient perspective, I scheduled through LifeStance, attended through LifeStance, and am receiving statements from LifeStance, so it is confusing and frustrating to be told this cannot be handled internally. Separate from the billing issue, the appointment itself was not a positive experience and I did not feel supported or like it was a good fit. I canceled my follow-up for that reason and followed the cancellation policy I was given. Months later, I am still being contacted about a charge that LifeStance billing has already confirmed should not apply, but I am being told Miranda Friedman needs to remove it. The lack of follow-through and accountability has made an already disappointing experience even more stressful.”
