What patients say on Google
“Dr. Ulrich is an awesome guy, and I will forever use his appointments as the gold standard for what a doctor’s appointment should be - punctual and succinct. However I’ve always had issues reaching his office, as it’s been a mixed bag on whether or not Carma Health staff would get around to my requests. This last week has been insane. On Friday, June 12 I sent in my first refill request at 8am. Silence. I sent another at 3pm hoping maybe my doctor or his staff were just busy. Monday rolls around and I give it another attempt and follow it up with a call. Previously if it was an urgent request, reception would be able to send the doctor or his team a Teams message, which would usually resolve my issue within a few hours. This week was the first time they told me that that move wasn’t in their capacity. What resulted was a week of me calling every few hours, reception sending a message to my doctor’s staff, and the staff stonewalling everyone 99% of the time. Instead of communicating with me, the Carma Health staff would leave an occasional note for reception saying things like “unable to refill until next appointment” (which was BS because I kept up with my appointments religiously), or “request already addressed in separate encounter” (no it wasn’t). None of this was ever relayed to me until I called back requesting an update, and there was never an explanation as to why any of this was the case. Reception was as clueless as I was (to no fault of their own). In every message or phone call I left for Carma Health I specified the prescription, dosage, and pharmacy I’d like it sent to. The ONLY message I got from the office was a single sentence request on June 15 (right before they closed) asking me to specify which medication I was needing refilled. So they clearly weren’t even reading my messages to begin with. It’s now Saturday, June 20. I’m out of medication that I’ve needed since earlier this week that I’ve been taking consistently for a year and a half. Needless to say, the effects of withdrawal are strong and Carma Health couldn’t seem to care less. I have had to switch back to an old medication and have already set up an appointment with a psychiatrist not associated with this cursed facility.”
“Never got ahold of anyone to make an appointment. Tried calling several times but they never answered. In their defense they did try calling back but I work nights and was asleep when they called back. They directed me to another number to schedule an appointment. When I called the operator answered with "Carma health" and after I spoke, dead air. Nothing at all except some background noise and a dog barking. Called back, same thing. Then they called me back and opened with "Carma health", then more dead air. No response. Tried to make an appointment online and it was never accepted. Cannot speak to the competency of the doctors because I could never get an appointment.”
“Have been a client here for five years and I have to say that I don’t ask much of my doctor, however the last two years when attempting to reach out by messaging service / sending messages to client portal I rarely get a response. In the last year, they generally never answer the phone. And the last six months I’ve been there three times in person and it seems as if there is always a new few people working the desk. That being said I am having issues with getting them to do simple tasks such as approval of specialists through PCP for insurance and it really shouldn’t be that difficult, nor should I have to ask over and over again about the same things so that I can continue to take care of myself.”
“I’m very concerned about the billing practices at Carma Health. I was charged copays that appear to be incorrectly applied—either tied to the wrong provider or not aligned with my insurance policy, which clearly states I have a $0 copay as of the beginning of April. Despite this, the charges were still listed. Because of these billing issues, I was unable to schedule an urgent doctor’s appointment, which is extremely frustrating when you need timely care. On top of that, the front desk staff I spoke with were not helpful in resolving the issue or providing clear answers. Overall, this experience raised serious concerns about both billing accuracy and customer service. I would recommend double-checking all charges and being prepared for potential difficulties getting assistance.”
