“That was the worst experience I have had in a long time; I would like to dispute her being paid for what happened yesterday. Talking to her was like sitting in an MRI machine: I felt trapped and frustrated. She did not know me she does not know me; and it felt like no matter what I said, she had her mind made up as soon as she saw me, that I do not have ADHD. I’ve lived inside my body, my whole life, and I’ve done research and I need help. I’ve taken antidepressants all my life and I do not want to keep taking them. I would like to try something to fix what’s been going on with me my whole life. I do not fit in with other people. I don’t know if I have a ADHD or autism, but I need help. The woman who I saw yesterday was unwilling to help me. If I ever find out that I do have autism or ADHD, I would like to file a formal complaint against that woman. I do not remember her name at all. There’s a reason for that.”

His calm voice and sweetness made scheduling my intake appointment so much easier than I thought it would be. So thank you Isaac for being so wonderful and being patient with me when I dissociate and asking you to repeat yourself. You’re truly the best.”

“I’m sharing my experience in case it helps someone else who is dealing with ADHD and trying to stay on track with their life. I recently saw this psychiatrist Michael Perez with this doctor office to discuss treatment for ADHD, which I’ve struggled with since I was a child. I requested a test my son recently had to help find out the best medicine that will work for me. My son is on a stimulant that has been life changing. I’ve been in recovery and working really hard to improve my life, including starting school soon. I explained that I’ve taken a medication in the past that helped me function, focus, and work. During the appointment, I felt like my concerns weren’t really heard. Because I’m in recovery, the doctor immediately ruled out prescribing a stimulant and didn’t seem open to discussing my history with ADHD or how important treatment is for me right now. I left the appointment feeling dismissed, discouraged, and hopeless especially since I’m trying to build a stable future by going back to school. I understand doctors have to be cautious, but patients in recovery also deserve to be listened to and treated with respect and compassion. ADHD is real and it affects daily life, work, and school. I hope this feedback encourages more balanced conversations between doctors and patients who are trying to do better and need support, not to feel brushed off. I wouldn't recommend this doctors office.”
